Believe it or not, dirt can and will get underneath them. If not vacuumed occasionally, the dirt will wear on the surface beneath it.

Vacuum Frequently

Another way to protect your carpet after it has been cleaned is by keeping up with your vacuuming. Vacuum frequently, whether you think it needs it or not. If you only vacuum your carpet when you think it looks like it needs it, you are not doing your job. It is also important that you make sure you vacuum underneath all your furniture. Clean Stains Immediately

You’ll also want to do this as soon as you notice it. Untreated snags run the risk of being run over by the vacuum. This is a big No-No. Snags can get caught in your vacuum, leading to a pull-line in your carpet.
